In Response to Diocese of Spokane Treat to File For Bankruptcy

Without a shred of proof, Bishop Skylstad is asking us to believe he's struggling financially and must stop the truth from being told and the victims from healing by seeking bankruptcy protection.

Like his brother bishops in Tucson and Portland, Skylstad's main concern is to prevent horrific cover ups of abuse to be exposed in upcoming civil trials. His real agenda is to make sure the secrets stay secret.

We hope that victims will persevere in the face of one more hardball legal delaying tactic by one more bishop. We hope that lay people will insist on Skylstad coming clean with his books. We hope that victims still trapped in shame and self-blame will overcome their fears and guilt, and come forward in spite of this latest blow.
