2nd Ex-St. Laurence Student Alleges He Was Abused

Chicago Tribune
January 8, 2003

A second former student of St. Laurence High School in Burbank has filed a lawsuit alleging sexual abuse by a former counselor convicted of child pornography in 1999.

The former student, identified as William Doe, alleges that between 1994 and 1996 Robert Brouillette gave beer and marijuana to him and other students and also helped him cheat on math tests, according to the suit filed Tuesday in Cook County Circuit Court.

In 1995, during the student's sophomore year, Brouillette performed sex acts on him during "counseling" sessions, the lawsuit alleges. Another former student sued Brouillette in July. That case is pending.

Brouillette is a member of a Roman Catholic religious order that runs the school. He is no longer at St. Laurence and was living in a home for priests and brothers, said attorney Jeanine Stevens, who filed the lawsuit.

An attorney for Brouillette declined to comment. A representative of the school could not be reached for comment.
