The Rev. Santino A. Casimano of Uncasville has been named interim principal of St. Bernard High School, the Norwich Diocese announced Friday.

Casimano is the chaplain and chairman of the Department of Religious Studies at the school. He also teaches Latin. He will begin his new duties July 1.

In a press release, Casimano said that one of his top priorities will be to strengthen the Catholic high school. He added that he recognized that this must be done within the constraints of the school's size and ongoing financial needs. About 350 students attend the high school.

Casimano is the visiting weekend priest at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Quaker Hill.
