Laicization Update
Martin J. Satchell

Archdiocese of Philadelphia
[June 2005 ?]

http://www.archdiocese-phl.org/protection/Updates/note_mjs.htm

The Holy See has notified the Archdiocese of Philadelphia that the request of Martin J. Satchell to be removed from the clerical state was granted. In response to a credible accusation of misconduct involving a minor, Martin Satchell was removed from active ministry in 1993. Subsequently, Martin Satchell sought removal from the clerical state.

Martin Satchell functioned as a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia from June 1993 to September 1993, during which time he served in St Raymond of Peñafort Parish.

Removal from the clerical state means that in accord with canon law, Martin J. Satchell is no longer incardinated in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and he is unable to function as a priest anywhere.
