Lawyers for two adults who claim they were sexually abused by a Roman Catholic priest from Chicago in 1975 and 1981 filed lawsuits Wednesday against the Rev. William J. O'Brien and the Chicago Archdiocese. James Hollahan says O'Brien, whom Cardinal Francis George removed from ministry last year amid sexual abuse allegations dating back more than 25 years, molested him at St. Jude's parish in South Holland in 1975. A woman who filed her lawsuit under the name Jane Doe 104 accused O'Brien, 58, of molesting her at St. Cajetan parish on Chicago's Southwest Side in 1981. Both Hollahan and Doe 104 were 17 at the time of the alleged abuse. A spokesman for the archdiocese said officials had not yet seen the suits and could not comment. O'Brien also served at St. Symphorosa and Queen of Angels parishes in Chicago.
