The Rev. Anthony Mercieca was ordained in 1962 and served as a priest in various South Florida parishes before leaving the Archdiocese of Miami to join the Gozo Diocese in the Republic of Malta.

His assignments included:

• St. Henry, Pompano Beach, 1988-93.

• St. Ambrose, Deerfield Beach, 1985-87.

• St. James, North Miami, 1976-84.

• Sacred Heart, Homestead, 1974-75.

• St. Coleman, Pompano Beach, 1971-73.

• San Isidro, Pompano Beach, 1970.

• St. Clare, North Palm Beach, 1968-69.

• Sacred Heart, Lake Worth, 1966-67.
