York, Me – The Rev. Harvey W. Lamothe, 66, of York, former pastor of St. Mary Church in Rollingsford, N.H., died yesterday in York Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Providence, R.I., and attended Providence elementary and high schools. He was a graduate of seminaries in Donaldson, Ind., and St. Marie, Ill.

He was ordained a priest in June, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wis. He became associated with the Diocese of Manchester, N.H., in 1960.

The Rev. Lamothe served as associate pastor at St. Christopher Church in Nashau, N.H., St. George Church in Manchester and the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, N.H.

He was later associate pastor at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson, N.H. St. Patrick Church in Pelham, N.H., and the Sacred Heart Church in Manchester.

Family members include two sisters, Sister Estelle Lamothe, Order of the Sisters of Charity, of Manchester, and Mrs. Edward (Laurette) Provost of Cranston, R.I.

The Bernier Funeral Home, Somersworth, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.
