A Roman Catholic priest has been charged with three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly fondling three young male parishioners.

The Rev. Lawrence Nawrocki, pastor of St. Isidore Church in Macomb Township, stood mute at his arraignment Tuesday before 41A District Judge Herman Campbell in Shelby Township.

Warrants in the case accuse Nawrocki of fondling three young boys - ages 11 and 12 -- during three separate incidents between Sept. 20 and Oct. 11. Two of the alleged incidents occurred while the boys slept over at the parish rectory and the third took place in the church before a mass, said Macomb County Prosecutor Carl Marlinga.

Nawrocki was released on a $30,000 personal bond pending a Nov. 30 preliminary examination. He has been removed from active duty at his parish and has been living at a psychiatric center under the supervision of the Archdiocese of Detroit since Friday.
