The state police arrested a Woonsocket man at his home Wednesday for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old Burrillville boy. They later charged the same man with allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Woonsocket man.

John F. Dority, 62, of 36 West Park Place, is charged with one count of second-degree child molestation and one count of second-degree sexual assault.

The 12-year-old boy whom Dority allegedly molested was arrested by the Burrillville police two weeks ago, also on child-molestation charges. The police are withholding his name because he is a juvenile, and his case was referred to Family Court.

During that investigation, the Burrillville boy told the police Dority had molested him. The allegation led to Dority's arrest. He was arraigned in District Court on Wednesday, and released on $1,000 with surety bail. A court order was issued prohibiting contact with the victim.

Then, on Thursday, as detectives continued investigating Dority, they found sufficient evidence to bring charges against him for allegedly assaulting the 19-year-old, whose name the police are withholding because he is a sexual assault victim. Dority was arraigned again. Bail was set at $10,000 cash, and another no-contact order was issued.

Anyone with information about Dority is asked to contact state police detective Benjamin Barney at 444-1155.
