Reverend and Dear Father,

The Reverend Anthony J. Muzic Pastor Emeritus, Saint Mark Parish, Cleveland

died yesterday, 29 March, after having received the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments.

Anthony John Muzic was born on 25 November 1935. His parents were the late Anthony and Christine Muzic. He was educated at St. Jerome, Roosevelt, Holy Cross Grade Schools, Barstow Union High School in Barstow, California, Saint Meinrad College, Saint Meinrad, Indiana, Borromeo College and Saint Mary Seminary. On 18 May 1963, in the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, Auxiliary Bishop Clarence E. Elwell ordained bim Jo the priesthood for the service of the Diocese of Cleveland.

Father Muzi^.s first assignment was as an assistant at Saint Vitus Parish, Cleveland. On 10' June 1965, he was transferred to Saint Brendan Parish, North Olmsted, On 8 September 1969, he became a full-time faculty member of Cleveland Central Catholic High School with residence at Saint Brendan Parish where he served until 1 September 1971, when he became an assistant at Immaculate Conception Parish, Akron. On 27 June 1974, Father Muzic was named to the Diocesan Department of Religious Education. On 28 May 1976, he joined the Faculty of Borromeo Seminary. On 1 January 1977, Father Muzic was appointed Associate Spiritual Director of Borromeo Seminary. On 1 July 1977, he became Spiritual Director of Borromeo Seminary. On 30 June 1982, Father Muzic was assigned to Saint Monica Parish, Garfield Heights where he served as coordinator of the parish team. On 1 March 1988, he became pastor of Saint Mark Parish, Cleveland. On 30 June 1997, he retired because of health problems.

The wake will be begin on Monday, 5 April in Saint Mark Church at 3 p.m. with Vespers and will continue until 7 p.m. when the Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Bishop Richard G. Lennon will be the main celebrant and Father James P. Schmitz will be the homilist.

In accord with the provisions of the Marian Pact, please try to. attend and concelebrate the Funeral Liturgy, offer Mass for him as you are able and cause him to be remembered and prayed for in the appropriate public prayers of the Church. May Father Anthony Muzic and all our priests,' deacons and bishops who have died, live forever in the joy of the Resurrection.
