Reverend John H. Flynn, Jr. of Framingham, formerly Lynnfield died on Sunday, January 30 at St. Patrick's Manor in Framingham.

Born in Boston on January 16, 1926, he was the son of the late John H. and Margaret (Sullivan) Flynn.

Father Flynn was raised in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School. He was also a graduate of Boston College, 1948 and earned his Master's Degree from Columbia University, 1949. He graduated from St. John's Seminary, 1955 and was ordained on February 2, 1955 at the Holy Cross Cathedral by the Most Reverend Richard J. Cushing. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.

Father Flynn was the former Pastor at St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield and also served at other parishes including St. Katherine in Westford, St. Thomas Aquinas in Jamaica Plain, St. Joseph in Medford, St. Paul in Wellesley and was the Chaplin at Matignon High School in Cambridge.

Father Flynn is survived by several cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield on Friday at 11 a.m. A period of visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4-6 p.m.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
