A Roman Catholic priest was placed on 10 years' probation Monday for child molesting.

The Rev. Harry R. Morgan, 61, was the former pastor of the Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills, located northeast of Scottsdale. He pleaded no contest Aug. 7 to a charge of molesting a 9-year-old boy last January.

"I have been consumed with guilt since the incident," Morgan told Maricopa County Superior Court Judge C. Kimball Rose before he was sentenced. He also said he was concerned about the effect his action would have on the victim's relation to the church.

Morgan's attorney, William P. Mahoney said the church would arrange to place the priest out of state in a parish without children.
