	Former Priest Sentenced to 10 Years for Indecency with a Child KVIA [El Paso TX] May 19, 2003 A former El Paso priest convicted of indecency with a child has been sentenced to ten years in prison. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has said Roy John Givens was a priest at St. Rafael's church on Fort Boulevard. There is no Saint Rafael's at that address. Father John Stowe of the Catholic Diocese says Givens was never associated with the Saint Raphael's church on Zanzibar or with the Catholic diocese in El Paso. Sheriff's Spokesman Rick Glancy says both the name and address of the church were part of the original charge filed against Givens. The Sheriff's Office had been looking for him since 1994 when he failed to show up for a court appearance. Givens was arrested in March after he was tracked down in Springfield, Illinois.
