FALL RIVER, Mass. -- When Bishop Sean P. O'Malley first came to Massachusetts from a small diocese in the West Indies, he went through what he calls a "reincarnation."

Charges against Rev. James Porter had just surfaced, and O'Malley faced the daunting task of dealing with the unfolding scandal. O'Malley was given charge of the Fall River Diocese 10 years ago. He came with no experience in sexual abuse matters and was stunned by the victims' stories.

Last summer, during an extensive interview with Newscenter 5's Natalie Jacobson, O'Malley talked about some of the challenges of that period and the current challenges the Catholic Church faces.
