Des Moines, July 8, 2003 - The Des Moines Catholic Diocese has missed the deadline to file a sex abuse report with the church's National Review Board. The deadline was June 30th.

The diocese is required to give information about all sexual abuse allegations it has received over the last 50 years. Spokeswoman Anne Marie Cox says the person who is completing the survey has been on vacation, so it's yet to be sent in.

Meanwhile, the Davenport Catholic Diocese has declined to comment on whether it has filed its report. The Dubuque archdiocese filed its report in early June. The Sioux City diocese also filed on time.

According to the Catholic News Service, the survey asks dioceses to answer questions about each cleric accused of abuse and each known person alleged to be a victim.
