	Church Asks Judge to Dismiss Abuse Case KWWL [Davenport IA] April 29, 2004 The Roman Catholic Diocese of Davenport says it's not responsible for warning parishoners about priests who abuse children. The Diocese made the claims in a motion to dismiss one of the 14 lawsuits pending against it. Lawyers for the Diocese say a negligence claim should be dismissed because state law doesn't require churches to notify parishoners about a priest's past misconduct. A judge will hear both sides in a hearing June third.
