SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS (AP) - Parents of alleged clergy sex abuse victims say money in a fund established to help abusive priests should instead be distributed to their victims. The request came at a meeting last night between parents and diocesan officials who are trying to figure out how to best distribute money in a victim's fund. This comes after new Springfield bishop Timothy McDonnell acknowledged last week that he was weighing a request by defrocked priest Richard Lavigne for access to some of the $100,000 dollars raised by private donors set up for people removed from the priesthood.
