(AP) JOLIET, Ill. Two former Will County men have filed lawsuits alleging Joliet Bishop Joseph Imesch failed to monitor a Catholic priest the men accuse of abusing them more than 25 years ago.

The lawsuits filed Thursday contend the former priest molested the boys while he worked at parishes in Elmhurst and Bolingbrook.

They claim Imesch and other Diocese of Joliet leaders didn't limit the priest's access to children or take other action.

Also Thursday, a DuPage County Judge agreed to unseal a 2005 deposition by Imesch in a separate sexual abuse case against another former priest.

The diocese had asked that the statement remain sealed.

A diocesan spokesman called the ruling very disappointing and declined to comment on the new lawsuits.
