(AP) Chicago - Prosecutors allege that a priest already charged with sexually abusing three boys repeatedly molested another boy while the Archdiocese of Chicago was supposed to be monitoring him.

The Rev. Daniel McCormack was released from Cook County Jail on Saturday after a bond hearing, during which a judge raised his bond to $700,000. He was charged Friday with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old and an 11-year-old.

McCormack pleaded not guilty in March to charges he molested three boys between September 2001 and January 2005.

McCormack molested the 11-year-old boy "on a daily basis" between September and January at a West Side church where the priest served as a teacher and basketball coach, Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Kathleen Muldoon said.

McCormack and his attorney, Patrick Reardon, left Saturday's hearing without answering reporters' questions. Reardon did not immediately return a phone call Sunday.

The archdiocese assigned a monitor to McCormack in August after molestation allegations first surfaced.

Archdiocese spokesman Jim Dwyer said he couldn't confirm whether the alleged abuse involving the 11-year-old boy occurred while McCormack was being monitored by a fellow priest.

"If it did, it just indicates to us what we already knew. Our monitoring program needs to be upgraded significantly, and we are in the process of doing that," Dwyer said.

A report from two outside consultants released by the archdiocese in March concluded that its policy of monitoring priests accused of sex crimes is inadequate.
