  Trainees to Learn Symptoms of Abuse
Session Covers Dynamics As Well As Legal Aspects

The Akron Area Association of Churches is offering a training session on child abuse and neglect from 10 a.m. to noon next Saturday at Summit County Children Services, 264 S. Arlington St.

The session aims to help clergy, church educators, youth directors and church staff recognize the signs of physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. It will also help participants understand the mandatory reporting law and the dynamics of abuse.

Cost is $8 per person. Registration and a continental breakfast is at 9:30 a.m. For more information, call 330-535-3112.

Missions

Northside Christian Church -- 7615 Ridge Road, Wadsworth. The church, with other Wadsworth churches, is seeking volunteers for next week to help build frames and walls for at least four homes to be shipped to victims of Hurricane Katrina and two for Appalachia Kentucky. Also needed are donations of money, construction materials, food and transportation of the walls. Details: 330-336-4622.
