More than 175 American Catholic bishops have been named as defendants, including Robert Brom of San Diego. The suit asks that all bishops disclose the names of roughly 5,000 proven and accused abusive priests. It was filed by the family of a Wisconsin man who was allegedly shot and killed by a pedophile priest.
