Syracuse, N.Y. (AP) - A Syracuse, New York, court appearance for a 77-year-old priest accused of sexual abuse was adjourned yesterday until January 23rd.

The Reverend Francis DeLuca, a retired priest from Wilmington (Delaware) was charged in October with five misdemeanors accusing him of repeated sexual contact with a boy in Syracuse.

Syracuse police say DeLuca confessed to molesting the boy, who is now 18, over a five-year period.

He had been dismissed from public ministry in 1993 after being accused of sexually abusing a minor in the 1960s while he was a priest in Delaware.
