For the second straight day, a man of the cloth has been accused of a terrible crime involving children.

Toronto Police have arrested a reverend who represents the St. Andrew's Parish of the Ontario Old Roman Catholic Church, after allegedly discovering child pornography in his possession.

Cops contend they found a series of disturbing videos and pictures involving youngsters at 65-year-old Frederick Dunleavy's Bleeker St. residence on Thursday.

"Members of the Toronto Police Service received information that Frederick Dunleavy was in possession of child pornography," relates Det. Cst. Amy Bjerknes. "Further to this allegation, we commenced an investigation."

They aren't saying yet how Dunleavy came to their attention, but they are concerned about what they claim to have found in his home.

"During the search warrant, videos and still images of child pornography were seized. The children in the images range in age from 5 years old to 17 years old."

St. Andrew's Parish, which has no affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church, is dedicated to helping the poor, the disabled and the homeless, and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the city of Toronto in May of this year.

Neighbours of the religious figure are shocked to hear he's been detained.

"He looked [like] a quiet guy," reflects Stan Evans. "I mean, you'd never think he'd [allegedly] do that. And a reverend? That's not good, you know."

Cally Specht is sick of hearing about these kinds of stories. "Yet another clergyman has been arrested for child porn?" she retorts. "This is getting ridiculous!"

Dunleavy and his congregation rent out the chapel of a Bloor and Sherbourne St. church but a volunteer says he left the building six months ago.

In the meantime, cops are interested in finding out if this is an isolated incident or if there are victims that may have more information to tell them.

Dunleavy is scheduled to appear at the College Park Courts on March 20th.

His arrest follows Thursday's collar of an 89-year-old priest for a historic sex assault.

Vernon Larthur Hirtle, who's still actively involved with the Baptist Church, is accused of repeatedly attacking a young girl when she had contact with him between 1987 and 1990.

His court date has yet to be announced.
