(Rochester, N.Y. - A lawyer has asked a judge that a Roman Catholic priest jailed for possessing child pornography should not be placed on New York's sex offender registry when he is released.

The Rev. Michael Volino pleaded guilty to having computerized images of child pornography on a computer.
He could be freed from prison within a month.
