Fort Myers: A Fort Myers youth pastor is charged with sexually assaulting two children - in one case several times a week for 11 months.

Elantonio Gomez, 50, of 4790 S. Cleveland Avenue, was arrested on two counts of Custodial Sexual Battery on Monday.

Sunday, a woman called deputies to report her son was being sexually assaulted by Gomez. She also told authorities about the abuse of a second boy, a 15-year-old, who was living with Gomez after losing his home in Hurricane Katrina.

The 15-year-old told them Gomez would routinely come into his room at night, strip and then perform sex acts on the boy. That abuse occurred three to four times per week for 11 months.

The boy said he didn't want to have sex with Gomez, but he didn't know what to do.

Detectives interviewed the woman's son early Monday morning. That boy said Gomez sexually assaulted him approximately 10 times at the suspect's home. The abuse occurred while the boy was 12-13 years old.

Deputies say Gomez is a youth pastor at the Safe Harbor Church on Plantation Road in Fort Myers. He's being held at the Lee County Jail.
