George Rosenkranz had been accused of sexually abusing minors. The move by the Vatican means the priest will not longer receive financial support from the Archdiocese. Rosenkranz is also banned from functioning as a priest, expect when offering absolution for the dying. Cardinal Sean O'Malley issued a statement apologizing to those who have suffered sexual abuse by priests.
