A former Hudson priest has been cleared of two allegations of sexual misconduct, the Boston Archdiocese said Friday.

In August 2002, The Rev. Thomas Curran was placed on administrative leave as pastor of St. Michael Parish based on one allegation. The Archdiocese was informed of the second allegation in March 2004.

The allegations spanned two time periods, one from 1970 to 1972 and the other from 1970 to 1974, and involved two different people, said Kelly Lynch, a spokeswoman for the Archdiocese.

Though the charges against Curran were unsubstantiated, his ministry is being restricted to sacramental celebrations with members of his family, the archdiocese said.

Lynch declined to elaborate on the reason for the restriction, citing "respect for the privacy of all parties concerned."
