The arraignment for a Catholic priest accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from two Louisa County parishes was postponed today after a grand jury indicted him on twelve additional charges.

The Reverend Rodney Rodis (ROH'-diss) was indicted in January on one count of felony embezzlement. Defense attorney Jack Maus says the grand jury added twelve additional counts late Friday.

Maus said Rodis could be sentenced to up to 20 years on each count if convicted.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Richmond has said Rodis embezzled more than 600-thousand dollars from two churches in Bumpass (BUMM'-pass) and Mineral. Rodis, who is 50, was pastor of the churches from 1993 until he retired last May.

Louisa Circuit Judge Timothy Sanner rescheduled Rodis' arraignment for March 30th. Rodis remains free on ten-thousand dollars' bond.
