A priest from Co. Fermanagh is standing trial in Liverpool accused of giving thousands of pounds to a convicted paedophile so he could groom a young girl for sex.

Father Jeremiah McGrath from Co. Fermanagh allegedly gave the money to William Adams, aged 38, who used it to buy gifts for an 11-year-old girl in Liverpool.

The 62-year-old priest is accused of three counts of facilitating the commission of a child sex offence and one count of sexual assault. He denies the charges.

He is not accused of having sex with the girl himself.
