A Louisa County judge this morning revoked bond for the priest accused of stealing as much as $1 million from two Louisa churches.

The Rev. Rodney L. Rodis violated terms of the $25,000 secured bond when he left Virginia last month to visit a child he was living with who now lives in New Mexico. Rodis will be held at Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange County.

Rodis faces 13 felony theft charges alleging that he diverted money given to St. Jude and Immaculate Conception Catholic churches from 1995 until he retired last year.

While pastor of the Louisa churches, Rodis lived with a woman he referred to as his wife and with three children in a Spotsylvania County neighborhood, just outside Fredericksburg, neighbors said. The woman and children left the residence for New Mexico after authorities leveled criminal charges against Rodis in January.
