A clerical witness in the trial of a man charged with falsely claiming sexual abuse by a priest has told the jury he now remembers a mother and son coming to him with a complant about the priest in question.

Father Oliver Crotty said, however, that "after rechecking the video in my brain" he was satisfied he wasn't in denial and that the complaint concerned "a parish matter to do with the boy's education" rather than one of sexual abuse.

He had originally said he had no recollection of the accused and his mother coming to him to complain that the priest was refusing to allow the accused to make his First Holy Communion.
