San Patricio - A San Patricio County youth minister was arrested over the weekend for alleged possession of child pornography. Stephen Douglas Livingston, 65, was arrested early Saturday morning after Sinton police said they found hundreds of pictures of child pornography on his personal computer.

According to police, those pornographic photos were of local children - taken with Livingston's own camera. But what's even worse, according to his arrest affidavit, is that Livingston is the youth minister for the First Baptist Church in Sinton.

Police said their investigation of Livingston began back on May 25, when a local mother filed a police report, alleging that Livingston had molested her young daughter.

After that, police said more little girls, ranging in age between 6 and 7, came forward, alleging similar abuse.

One week later, police said they found disturbing pictures on Livingston's home computer.

"We found several hundred pictures of children," Detective Eric Blanchard of the Sinton Police Department said.

According to police, those pictures were pornographic.

"What he was doing, is he was taking pictures of children down their shirts, or up their shorts or skirts and he also had other images of pornography involving children between the ages of 4, 5 up to 12, some adults as well," Blanchard said.

First Baptist Church officials in Sinton refused to speak on camera Monday, saying that they did not employ Livingston. They issued a statement, however, saying they would rather not comment on the criminal investigation.

No one came to the door at Livingston's home, out in the county.

Livingston has posted his $50,000 bond. He's charged with three counts of indecency with a child by contact one count of possession of child pornography and one count of taking indecent pictures of children.

Police will continue their investigation and said they suspect more children may come forward, alleging sexual abuse by Livingston.
