A 65-year-old San Patricio County man is out on bond after he was arrested Saturday on charges of indecency with a child and possession of child pornography.

Sinton Police Detective Eric Blanchard said the investigation into Stephen Douglas Livingston began on May 25 when a girl younger than 10 accused the man of sexual abuse. Police would not release the girl's exact age.

Blanchard said Livingston, 65, spent time around children at First Baptist Church of Sinton, where Livingston is a member. Police would not say if the girl also attended the church.

Authorities seized Livingston's computer Friday after interviewing him.

"An analysis by computer forensics found several images of what is considered child erotica and child pornography," Blanchard said.

Investigators would not say if the photos on Livingston's computer were of local children but did say that the photos were not downloaded from the Internet.

The confiscated material was enough for police to secure warrants for Livingston's arrest, Blanchard said.

The initial charges were one count of indecency with a child by contact, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of inappropriate photography.

After Livingston was arrested, Blanchard said he provided more information. Livingston then was charged with two additional counts of indecency with a child by contact.

Livingston posted a $50,000 bond Sunday.

Blanchard said the investigation is continuing.
