Garden City, Long Island - A spokeswoman for Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani says he has no plans to fire a priest on his payroll who has been accused of abusing children.

Monsignor Alan Placa has denied wrongdoing. He's been suspended from the clergy since 2002, amid abuse allegations.

Giuliani's security consulting business has hired Placa, who's also a lawyer and a childhood friend of the former New York City mayor.

Advocates for victims of sexual abuse by priests are calling on Giuliani to fire Placa. A spokeswoman for Giuliani Partners said Placa wasn't available to comment yesterday.

The spokeswoman says Giuliani believes Placa has been unjustly accused.
