Chicago, Ill. (WBBM) — As we've been reporting, there is word that Father Daniel McCormack will plead guilty to five counts of child sexual abuse.

WBBM has reaction from the parish in the center of the abuse allegations: St. Agatha on Chicago's West Side.

The reports about Father Daniel McCormack's plans to plead guilty were the subject of remarks by St. Agatha's priest at mass this weekend.

Father Larry Dowling says he thinks McCormack's pleading guilty will resolve things in people's minds and may allow other victims to come forward to get the healing they need.

Parishioner Lillie Kilo says the abuse allegations against McCormack, who was arrested a year and a half ago, have not been an easy thing for the parish to get through.

She says she is not one to judge.

"If he did it, then... if he admits it, then God will heal him in time. And those boys, God will heal them. All they have to do is pray."

Father Larry Dowling says St. Agatha may have lost as many as 75 families in the wake of the McCormack investigation.

Father Dowling says there is still anger in the parish toward Father McCormack and Cardinal George, who has faced criticism for his handling of the allegations against McCormack.
