A new trial date was set for a former Roman Catholic priest whose sexual-abuse conviction was overturned by the Kentucky Supreme Court.

Daniel C. Clark, 59, will face a new trial on Oct. 30 after a hearing in Bullitt Circuit Court this morning.

Clark was convicted in 2003 of two counts of first-degree sexual abuse for molesting two boys between 1999 and 2002. One boy was 8 and the other 9 when the alleged abuse began.

But in May, the Kentucky Supreme Court overturned the conviction saying the trial judge gave faulty jury instructions and improperly allowed a former victim of Clark to testify. The court ruled that was prejudicial to Clark.

Clark was released from prison and returned to the Bullitt County Jail.

This morning, a $10,000 cash bond was set for Clark.
