Stephen Eckert, who grew up in Fort Wayne and now lives in Indianapolis, is suing two Indiana dioceses and the priest's order. Eckert says in the lawsuit filed in Allen Superior Court that he was abused by the Reverend Gerald Funcheon. Eckert says his first conscious memory of the abuse did not occur until June 2005.
Spokesmen for the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese and the Phoenix-based Crosiers said they had not seen the lawsuit and could not comment. Funcheon could not be located for comment.
