Syracuse, N.Y. — A former priest convicted of sex abuse in Syracuse could face new charges in Delaware.

A new law in Delaware abolishes a two-year statute of limitations on personal injury lawsuits for victims of child sex abuse.

Last month, Francis DeLuca pleaded guilty to abusing a Syracuse teen. He faces up to two years in prison for that conviction.

Now, a lawyer in Wilmington, Delaware is expected to file a civil lawsuit today on behalf of an alleged victim there.

DeLuca served in the Diocese of Wilmington for 35 years.
