7th Annual Wisdom School Week #1

Conducted by Ward Bauman

This week will focus on the "Four Quartets" a poem by T. S. Eliot and its application to the spiritual journey within ourselves. He will also be continuing his work from last spring, translating the Gospel of Phillip.

The Rev. Ward Bauman is the director and retreat Master of the Episcopal House of Prayer in Collegeville, Minnesota on the St. John's University campus. This remarkable and beautiful place is under the strong leadership of Ward, who is an accomplished teacher and practitioner of contemplative life. He has spent time overseas, in the Middle East, and in addition to his pastoral responsibilities in various Episcopal Parishes in California as an Episcopal priest, he has developed a wide community of men and women on the wisdom path both in the Midwest and on the West Coast. Throughout the years he has focused on the teachings of Meister Eckhart, the poetry of T.S. Eliot, and more recently on the ancient text of the Gospel of Philip.

We will begin Sunday night June 3 rd . at approximately 7pm. and will end on Saturday June 9 th at noon.

7th Annual Wisdom School Week #2

Conducted by Cynthia Bourgeault

This week will focus on the "Gospel of Mary Magdelene" one of the early christian gospels and its application to the spiritual journey within.

The Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault, a resident of Eagle Island, Maine where she has established her hermitage is an internationally known teacher, retreat leader and spiritual director. She has taught all across North America and is the author of many texts on spiritual life and the wisdom tradition. Her work is broad and yet has been grounded in strong contemplative practice that is known as Centering Prayer. In the practice she has taught with other renowned teachers such as Fr. Thomas Keating. Her books include Love is Stronger Than Death, A Wisdom Way of Knowing, Centering Prayer and Inner Awakening.

We will begin Sunday night June 10 th at approximately 7pm. and will end on Saturday June 16 th at noon.
