A financial adviser to the diocese has given that account of how retired Bishop Anthony Pilla reacted three years ago. William Reidy was testifying today at the fraud trial of former church accountant Anton Zgoznik. Zgoznik is accused of paying kickbacks to his boss, a former top church official who will face trial later. The defense claims the funds were part of a pattern of secret financial dealings by the church.
