MANSFIELD – Jury selection is under way in the aggravated rape trial of a former DeSoto Parish pastor who is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

Burcham Paul Warren, 51, of Stanley, was indicted last October. The sexual activity is alleged to have happened from March to September last year.

The child, one of Warren's relatives and a church member, reported the alleged abuse to a teacher.

Warren, who pleaded not guilty to the crime, was pastor of South Oak Grove Assembly of God Church in Stanley.

Warren's laptop computer was seized as a part of the probe. It contained adult pornography, but none of the images were illegal.
