A support group for those who have been sexually abused by clergy wants the Catholic Diocese of Jackson to list the names of those pedophile priests.

At a press conference Thursday, members of SNAP, or Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests, urged Bishop Joseph Latino to reveal the names of the accused. The group gathered on the steps of St. Peter Catholic Cathedral in downtown Jackson.

In a letter to Bishop Latino, they've asked that the church post on their website the names of all admitted pedophiles, what their status is, and where they live. They also want to know when an accused priest from another diocese transfers to Jackson.

Members of SNAP say it's not to harrass the priests, but it's for the safety of the public.

Bishop Latino was not available for an interview Thursday, but a lawyer representing the Jackson Diocese released this statement:

"The Diocese of Jackson does not allow priests who have been accused of credible allegations of abuse to transfer into the diocese from other dioceses or orders. To its knowledge, no priests are currently serving the diocese with credible allegations of abuse."

The group says at least 15 people have reported being abused by priests in Jackson. They urge anyone who may have been a victim to come forward.
