HONG KONG - A Hong Kong pastor who molested three boys over a 20 year period because of homosexual urges was due to be sentenced by a court Friday.

Amos Fung Chun-yip, 41, molested the boys, aged 13 to 17, at his home, two of them after inviting them to play video games and stay overnight between 1986 and 2005.

Fung, who had been in charge of youth activities since joining the Christian church in 2002, confessed his crime during a counselling session with a senior pastor in September 2005.

According to a report in the South China Morning Post Friday he told his counsellor that: 'he had sinned against a church membehing a church member's private parts.'

He resigned a month later but was only arrested last year after two of the boys came forward to complain about the indecent assault to the senior pastor.

The first victim was only 11-years-old when he met Fung and was molested on three different occasions between 1986 and 1988.

Fung appeared in court Thursday pleading guilty to five counts of indecent assault.

His defence claimed Fung was genuinely remorseful and committed the assaults because he was a victim of sexual abuse as a child himself.

Judge David Dufton is expected to sentence him Friday.
