A priest convicted oF molesting two young boys is now being sued by two brothers claiming they were sexually abused as well.

The Rev. Donald J. McGuire 77, of the Chicago Province of the Society of Jesuits, is being sued by two brothers, John Doe 117, now 28 and John Doe 118, now 19.

The brothers accuse McGuire of molesting them from 1988 to as late as 2002. McGuire is now living in Oak Lawn.

According to the suit, in 1988 McGuire began abusing John Doe 117 during the sacrament of confession. McGuire also allegedly made John Doe 117 massage his naked body.

According to the lawsuit, "McGuire also showed John Doe 117 pornography and frequently had inappropriate and sexually graphic discussions with John Doe 117, including in the confessional."

Then according to the suit, McGuire began to sexually assault John Doe 118 in 2001, when Doe 118 was 13-years-old. The lawsuit alleges that McGuire recruited Doe 118 to be an altar server and would walk around naked in front of the victim and force Doe 118 to massage his naked body.

In February, 2006, McGuire was convicted of sexually assaulting "John Doe 84" and one other victim beginning in 1965 on trips to Wisconsin while they were students at Loyola Academy. McGuire was sentenced to seven years, which he is appealing now.

During the time from 1965 to 1969, the victims were abused by McGuire. In 1969, John Doe 84 had a meeting with supervisors at Loyola Academy. After the meeting Doe 84 transferred to another school and McGuire was removed from staff.

But McGuire was not reported to police or anybody else, according to the lawsuits.

The brothers are also suing the Jesuit Church for negligence, saying the church knew about McGuire's actions for years and did nothing to prevent McGuire from committing sexual abuse again.

"The Jesuits have been reckless in their behavior, McGuire should have been removed from ministry in 1969," said Barbara Blaine, president of the Survivors Network for those Abused by Priests (SNAP).

A press conference was scheduled on Monday after the News-Herald deadline by Marc Pearlman, who is representing the brothers. They were scheduled to hand out information that shows the Jesuits knew about McGuire's actions and previous sexual assault cases.

Blaine also said that she just learned that in 1992 or 1993 McGuire received some kind of treatment in regards to all theses allegations. But she could not go into further detail because she was unsure as to what the treatment was.

The father of the children was a big fan and supporter of McGuire and did not believe the previous allegations against him. When the oldest son went home to visit, the father talked to the son about McGuire and that is when John Doe 117 first told anyone about McGuire sexually abusing him.

The two then went to the younger brother, John Doe 118, who told them of McGuire' abusing him.

"McGuire introduced the boy's parents to Mother Teresa in the 1980s, the parents thought McGuire was a saint," said Blaine.

Repeated calls for a statement from the Jesuits were not returned.
