An addled priest - busted for stalking TV funnyman Conan O'Brien - resented the fame of former classmates and his journalist father, friends said.

"I once went after my childhood nemesis, John McEnroe, too, and am still waiting for his confession," Boston Rev. David Ajemian, 46, rambled in a series of letters he allegedly sent O'Brien.

A former telemarketer who came late to the priesthood, Ajemian was arrested Friday outside O'Brien's studio at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Son of Time magazine journalist Robert Ajemian, the troubled priest sent messages to O'Brien over 14 months, some on church stationery.

Ajemian underwent psychological tests yesterday and will be back in court today on charges of stalking and aggravated harassment.
