Father David Ajemian, who was arrested in New York City last week for stalking Conan O'Brien, is back in town after making bail. Once home, he promptly went missing, only to be found a few hours later. So if you thought you saw Conan O'Brien's priest-stalker around the South End, you probably did.

The BPD issued a report telling people to be on the lookout (BOLO in BPD parlance) for Father Ajemian. The report notes that he was last seen at 12:30 in the South End, he was reported missing at 3:15 pm, he was found at 7:00 pm, and he was self-admitted to a hospital for observation. The BPD wrote, "It was further reported to officers that Mr. Ajemian's mental state may be of concern."

WCVB added that the BPD was taking it seriously and "considered him homicidal and suicidal." Whatever he was, he was definitely busy. He told reporters that he fancied Paul Simon and Faye Dunaway. WHDH report that Ajemian may have tried to get into the WHDH building. The WHDH reporter said he had to be "yanked from the foyer" by someone who was with him.

How did Ajemian get home so quickly? And who was keeping an eye on him when he clearly needs help? His father, who was an editor for Life Magazine, paid his $2,500 bail and took him home, where he must have snuck out (keep in mind that Ajemian is 46 years old).

Maybe Ajemian thought he was being funny again. He had a lot to say after he got out of the lock-up, including, "I guess I felt I was getting an inspiration to get him to acknowledge me in a way that would promote me as a priest…. Also, I think he's a wonderful comedian, and I'm a bit of a comedian myself, so there's an element of fun in it for me as well." Maybe the judge who said Ajemian was fit to stand trial was wrong.
