If the Rev. Sante Sguotti, the rebel priest, thought he could end his religious career and start to be a writer now has reasons to change his mind. It is true his first career is almost ended, but it is almost sure his debut as a writer was disappointing. Traveling around Padua and its province, where the main book shops are located, it is easy to notice there were not many buying of his book. At 9 a.m., there were piled stacks of "Il mio amore non e' peccato" (My love is not a sin). .

But after the normal eight-hour business day many of those stacks were not touched by readers. Most visitors stopped in front of the books, perusing them in a bored way and then going on. Many of them wanted to know in recent days the day of its release but the curiosity they had shown seemed to have disappeared. At the Moderna book shop in Abano only five books were sold yesterday. Less lucky was the newspaper stall at Monterosso where no copies were sold. The Mondadori book shop in piazza Insurrezione (where they sell books of Rev. Sante's publisher) was a little better. "There is much curiosity," the Padua book shop employees explained. "Many people had come here to be informed about the book but the sales today weren't so many as expected," the employee said.

To sum it up, it is likely Rev. Sante will have to continue his career as a truck driver, waiting for a possible income deriving from his book: only two/three euros for each copy.
