STONEHAM, Mass. — The local priest accused of stalking Conan O'Brien was the focus of a meeting Monday between church leaders and parents.

Father David Ajemian had been allowed to chaperone field trips at St. Patrick's Church in Stoneham.

Parents demanded to know why, given his history of mental health issues.

"There has never been the suggestion that Fr. Ajemian's presence in the parish would constitute even the slightest risk to young people or anyone else," The Archdiocese said in a statement released on Monday.

Father Ajemian was placed on leave from the church in June.
