E adesso chi li rimborsa tutti i giornalisti?

Now who is going reimburse all those newsmen? The appointment was for December 2 at Monterosso, a town which went under the spotlights so quickly that one would think it would plunge into anonymity at the same speed. It was announced 100 days ago , emphasized by the alleged and cumbersome presence of Emmanuel Milingo (the bishop could now be still fighting at the borders for a revoked passport), it was launched as a titanic defiance which could have made the church crumble, the same church the rebel priest had chosen freely, but it ended up being announced in the newspapers in a very subdued manner.

The official engagement of the rebel priest to his lover has been postponed because he said he was too busy. A very shocking a concise way to say that ! Disconcerting because to judge the usual behavior of men in their daily life, you can discover that for love everything happens: You cancel pledges and you delay any program, you sign contracts and you resign from any previous duty. You change office, work objectives and secretaries. You travel, rest, sweat. You get angry, you stand firm, you fight. You invent new jobs, change your hobbies and preferences. The power of love is incredible. But for the rebel priest love seems not to breathe with some life ! He started in mid-August transforming Love by excellence (that's for God) in something very relative, even if that's an absolute love, now even the other love has become relative for him. His behavior is more related to the fixed syndrome "of the ever present guest" in the TV stardom system. Once the curtain of a more or less successful debate at Sheraton Hotel in Padua closed down, there remains the sadness to see a fellow priest lost under the waning lights, discolored applause, soon to disappear smiles. Only the tender remarks by Rev. Vinicio Albanesi at the recent TV Matrix show remain :"the fact that not all priests are faithful to celibacy is not a valid reason to discolor its millenary ideality". But then the Rev. Sguotti changed subject and spoke about the problem of priests' pedophilia, the abuses committed in the construction of the Seminary Minor of Tencarola, the bad moral conduct of other Fathers, his request to the curia for the money due to him for having been fired, his letters to the bishop, his writing an instant book with the pretense to make it pass as a new Decameron! What was important for him was to shoot, using the name of Saint Lorenzo Milani, the prophet of disobedience. But the priest of Monterosso can't be compared to the priest of Barbiana: even if you stay in the same waters it doesn't mean you learn to swim.
