BOISE — The Roman Catholic Diocese in Boise says a priest from Mountain Home who engaged in misconduct is on paid leave and ordered to obtain professional help.

Diocese officials say Rev. Raul Covarrubias, 63, was the focus of allegations examined by the church's sexual misconduct review board. Church officials declined to describe the allegations or the kind of professional help the pastor will receive.

Covarrubias has served as pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Mountain Home since 1992. He was placed on paid leave in September after the allegations surfaced.

Bishop Michael Driscoll told parishioners last weekend that the investigation concluded no sexual abuse of a minor occurred and no civil laws were broken.
